I Think I Always Knew

This tune is one of those classic ‘heartbreak’ ballads! Let’s just say “I think I always knew it was going to end this way”…

I didn’t have any plans for this composition, my heart just said what I needed to say. It was written in about an hour, and wasn't edited or altered after that!

My trio recorded this tune on our debut EP in 2008. As with many of my compositions, I approached this piece without any key/key signature in mind, letting the melody decide what is harmonically needed.
