Version I is featured on my album From The Heart. I produced this recording inviting guests including highly acclaimed US pianist, author Mark Levine, guitarist Matt Kirsch, vocalist Christine Sullivan, flugelhorn specialist Bobby Venier, bassist Ben Robertson and drummer Darryn Farrugia. I perform on a variety of instruments including congas, shekere, bombo, cowbell and synthesizer. The rhythmic base is Afro-Cuban 6/8, and in particular a genre known as bembe, combined with the richness in harmonic movement of Afro-American jazz.
