Biography

Margot Leighton has been singing professionally & dedicated to her craft for more than 35 years. She has performed at the Sydney Opera House, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, the Stonnington Jazz Festival, and makes regular appearances at the Wangaratta Jazz Festival each year. As well as numerous Television, Radio, Theatre credits, she writes and performs her own music. Margot has a powerful yet sweet voice and absolutely loves to sing.

An experienced singer and performer, Margot Leighton has been dedicated to her craft for over 30 years. 
More than just a singer Margot is a passionate and professional musician, committed to furthering her ability and knowledge.
With a BA Music Industry (RMIT), a Diploma of Education in Classroom and Instrumental Music (Melbourne) and a Dip Music Performance (NMIT) her qualifications cover many areas.
Margot is a resident vocalist with the esstee Big Band; one of Melbourne’s fine jazz big bands.

Margot uses her professional talents extensively in the classroom where she teaches music in an esteemed Melbourne High School.

She performs regularly in a variety of ensembles including a capella ensembles as well as trios and quartets, playing with some of Melbourne’s finest musicians. She has sung the National Anthem at Olympic Park before a packed stadium.
