Biography

Kristin Berardi

Kristin Berardi is a creative musician, composer and educator and is passionate about sharing music. Kristin is from Qld Australia, and is now residing in Switzerland where she is on staff at HSLU, in Luzern (2021). She was one of Australia’s first calls in jazz performance and education, but looks forward to connecting with a wider audience now she is based in Europe. She also works in the contemporary music field outside jazz and into the experimental field. She has worked with musicians such as Kenny Werner, Ingrid Jensen, Thomas Morgan, Chris Walker, Dan Tepfer, Jerome Jennings, Dan Weiss, Florian Ross, Jim Pugh, Matthew Halpin, Sam Anning, Pascal Schumacher, Andrea Keller, James Muller, James Sherlock, Katie Noonan, Mike Nock, Miro Sprague, Wendy Matthews, Kate Miller-Heidke, Orlando Fleming, Phil Slater, Barney McAll, Julien Wilson, Jamie Oehlers, Hannah Macklin, Carl Morgan, Zac Hurren, Katie Whighton, Emma Dean and many other amazing artists. Her accolades include: recipient of Jazzahead grant from Sounds Australia 2022 recipient of The Churchill Fellowship 2020 performing in the Closing Ceremony of The Commonwealth Games 2018 National Tour of JONI:Both Sides Now, including The Sydney Opera House and Hamer Hall 2018 winning the Montreux Jazz Festival's International Jazz Vocal Competition in 2006 supporting Al Jarreau and George Benson at Montreux Jazz Festival 2007 winning the National Freedman Fellowship (one recipiant for jazz and classical per year. Berardi is the only vocalist to have recieved one for Jazz) winner of National Jazz Award, Voice, 2012 winner of National Bell Award for The Best Jazz Vocal album, 2010, 2013, 2016 nominated for an ARIA (Australia’s equivalent of The Grammy Award) 2013
