Biography

Elliot Frost is an Australian jazz guitarist and composer from Boorloo/Perth who has been making his base in London since late 2019. Since relocating, Frost has been establishing himself as both a bandleader and sideman with performances at some of London’s most celebrated jazz clubs (The Vortex, The Crypt and Hampstead Jazz Club to name a few) as well as London Jazz Festival. He released his debut album New Surroundings in 2023 on the AMP Music and Records label.

While living in Perth, he studied at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts completing a Bachelor of Music (Honours) where his thesis on Gilad Hekselman’s use of polyrhythm and phrasing was awarded a high distinction. While at WAAPA, he studied with Jamie Oehlers, Tom O’Halloran and Daniel Susnjar, he has also undertaken lessons with the likes of Lage Lund, Mike Moreno, Matthew Stevens, Ben Monder and Gilad Hekselman in New York City.

Frost’s compositions have been described as “richly melodic” and his guitar playing “intelligent and inspired” (Mike Gates - UK Vibe). “Frost has a superlative touch in his playing style..” (Sammy Stein - sammystein.org)
