Some amazing new tunes here featuring the Ben Winkelman Trio from his new album "The Knife" out on Jazzhead. Plenty going on around the place, award winners doing great things, new venues, and new albums being made in the face of adversity and less than friendly support to things like the arts sector. The fact that Sounds Australia are facing funding uncertainty is criminal. These guys are incredibly hard working and provide an extremely valuable service. On a lighter note it is fantastic that the crowdfunding effort to preserve the Don Banks Collection mentioned in a previous newsletter was well supported and met its goal. 5+1/2 gold stars for you if you helped out with that!
